Our School

Morris Brandon Elementary School was founded in 1947 as part of the Atlanta Public School system and is proud to be an International Baccalaureate Primary Years World School. The school was named after local business leader, Morris Brandon, whose three sons donated the land to underscore their father’s belief that the “best possible education” is the best way to provide for the future. Our school mascot is the Bee and we feed into Sutton Middle School and North Atlanta High School.

Morris Brandon Elementary provides a world-class academic education for just over 1000 students in grades kindergarten through fifth, at two separate campuses located in the Buckhead area of Atlanta.  There are more than fifty certified classroom teachers on both campuses as well as additional certified teachers specializing in art, music, French, physical education, speech and language pathology, gifted education (Challenge), Special Education and the Early Intervention Program (EIP). Over 70% of the Morris Brandon certified staff has earned advanced degrees.  Our staff also includes a group of dedicated paraprofessionals who work with the kindergarten and special education classes.

With our focus on excellence, Morris Brandon Elementary is rated as one of Georgia’s top schools, year after year.  This focus has helped us to earn three coveted distinctions as a National Blue Ribbon School, a Georgia School of Excellence and an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School. The talented administrators, teachers and staff and the committed parents from Morris Brandon work together each year to create an environment where our students can learn, grow, and thrive. We have a truly wonderful school community and we welcome you to visit us and see why Morris Brandon Elementary is the place to “Bee!”
